Corydoras napoensis
Origin: Ecuador, Peru (Napo River)
Corydoras napoensis is an uncommon and elegant cory from the Napo River drainage in Ecuador and Peru, featuring a pale, silvery body dotted with fine dark spots that create a refined, understated pattern. In the wild it inhabits blackwater streams with sandy substrate and abundant leaf litter. Best maintained in soft, slightly acidic water that replicates its native Amazonian habitat, with fine sand substrate and generous botanicals.
Keep in groups of 6 or more on fine sand substrate. Provide leaf litter and driftwood to recreate blackwater conditions. Feed sinking pellets, frozen bloodworm, and daphnia. Maintain excellent water quality with frequent partial changes. Sensitive to nitrate accumulation.
