Halichoeres nebulosus
Origin: Indo-Pacific
The Nebulous Wrasse is an energetic and visually intricate species from the Indo-Pacific, with males displaying an eye-catching mosaic of green, orange, and yellow patches across the body. It is an active mid-water swimmer that patrols the reef environment in search of small invertebrates and crustaceans. Though more accessible than many rarities, it remains uncommon in the trade, making it a welcome find for marine enthusiasts.
Provide a mature reef or fish-only aquarium with ample swimming space and live rock. Feed a varied diet of frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp, and small meaty foods twice daily. May consume small ornamental shrimp. Ensure a tightly fitting lid; wrasses are skilled jumpers.
