Nemacheilus Stream Loach

Nemacheilus species are widespread across South and Southeast Asian river systems and are among the most diverse and ecologically successful nemacheilid loaches. The species offered here features fine reticulated or mottled brownish patterning over a pale body and adapts well to a broad range of water conditions. Kept in pairs or small groups, they provide low-maintenance interest in community or biotope setups.

Water: 20-26°C, pH 6.5-7.5, moderately hard, gentle to moderate flow. Tank: Minimum 60 L, rounded pebble substrate, driftwood, low-mid current. Feeding: Sinking micro-pellets, frozen daphnia, tubifex, blanched vegetables. Behaviour: Moderately active; rests on flat surfaces between foraging bouts. Compatibility: Peaceful; works well in general community setups.
