Neolamprologus cylindricus

Origin: Lake Tanganyika, Africa
Neolamprologus cylindricus is a medium-sized lamprologine from the rocky shores of Lake Tanganyika, easily identified by its strongly contrasting black-and-white vertical barring and cylindrical body shape. It is a cave spawner that forms bonded pairs and is aggressive towards its own kind. Suitable for a Tanganyika community with adequate space and rockwork.
Water: 24-27°C, pH 7.8-9.0, hard alkaline water. Tank: 120L for a pair; extensive rock piles to define territory boundaries. Feeding: Quality cichlid flake and pellet; occasional frozen Mysis or Artemia. Behaviour: Territorial pair; will chase similar-looking species; provide line-of-sight breaks. Compatibility: Julidochromis species, Cyprichromis leptosoma, or Neolamprologus brichardi.
