Neolamprologus leleupi

Origin: Lake Tanganyika, Africa
The orange colour morph of Neolamprologus leleupi is one of the most visually arresting Tanganyika cichlids, displaying an all-over vivid orange body with no pattern to distract from its intense hue. It inhabits vertical rock faces and deep crevices in the lake. Breeding pairs form tight bonds and will aggressively defend eggs and fry laid in rocky caves.
Water: 24-27°C, pH 7.8-9.0, GH 12-20, KH 8-18. Tank: 100L for a pair; tall rockwork with vertical crevices and overhangs. Feeding: Quality pellet and flake; supplement with frozen Artemia or Mysis; avoid high plant-content foods. Behaviour: Pairs are devoted but may harass tankmates during spawning; one pair per tank. Compatibility: Cyprichromis leptosoma, Paracyprichromis nigripinnis, Julidochromis regani.
