Sundadanio axelrodi
Origin: Indonesia, Malaysia (Borneo, Sumatra, Riau Archipelago)
Sundadanio axelrodi is a diminutive gem from the blackwater peat swamps of Borneo, Sumatra, and the Riau Archipelago, displaying an intensely iridescent electric-blue lateral stripe against a deep red-brown body. Blackwater conditions with very soft, acidic water and tannins are essential to unlock its full coloration potential. A mesmerizing nano species that is best displayed in groups of 15 or more, where its collective iridescence creates a sparkling, shimmering cloud effect.
Maintain very soft, acidic blackwater conditions using RO water conditioned with Indian almond leaves, peat, or driftwood. Keep in groups of 15+ in a well-planted nano tank with dim lighting. Feed micro-pellets, baby brine shrimp nauplii, and crushed flake. Avoid large or boisterous tank mates.
