Euphyllia ancora
Origin: Indo-Pacific (aquacultured morph)
This neon green aquacultured morph of Euphyllia ancora is among the most intensely colored Hammer Coral variants available, displaying lime-green fleshy hammer-tipped tentacles that glow brilliantly under reef lighting—particularly under blue actinic spectra. Like all Euphyllia, it requires stable alkalinity and calcium levels to support its calcium carbonate skeleton and benefits significantly from regular target-feeding with meaty foods. Its sweeper tentacles can extend considerably at night and must be given adequate spacing from neighboring corals.
Position in moderate flow and medium-intensity lighting (150–250 PAR). Target-feed 2–3 times per week with meaty foods such as frozen mysis or Reef Roids. Maintain alkalinity 8–12 dKH, calcium 400–450 ppm, and magnesium 1350–1450 ppm. Maintain at least 10 cm distance from neighboring corals to prevent sweeper tentacle damage.
