Also known as: Nigrodorsal Cichlid

Benitochromis nigrodorsalis is a member of the small Benitochromis genus from coastal drainages of Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea. Like other Benitochromis, it practises biparental mouthbrooding and is notably peaceful for a cichlid. The black-and-white dorsal fin is a distinctive marking that makes it visually striking in the aquarium.

Feeding: Cichlid pellets, frozen invertebrates including daphnia and bloodworm, and plant matter. Behaviour: Biparental mouthbrooder; moderately territorial during breeding but generally peaceful. Compatibility: Compatible with small tetras, Congo dwarf cichlids, and peaceful Synodontis catfish.
