Apistogramma norberti was described from Peruvian Amazonia and is named for its discoverer. It is recognised by its attractive spotted body patterning and the warm orange-yellow coloration of its fins, which becomes strikingly vivid in breeding males. It thrives in soft, clean water with appropriate cichlid habitat structure.
Water: 24-29°C, pH 5.5-7.0, soft to moderately soft (GH 2-8). Tank: 60L minimum, sand substrate, caves, plants, and driftwood. Feeding: omnivore — live/frozen Artemia, Daphnia; quality cichlid pellets. Behaviour: territorial during breeding; harem setup (1M:2-3F) optimal. Compatibility: peaceful community with small tetras and Corydoras.
