Nothobranchius foerschi is a spectacularly coloured annual killifish from the coastal regions of Tanzania. Males display deep metallic blue body colouration contrasting with bright red-edged fins. The species follows the classic Nothobranchius lifecycle, with eggs surviving the dry season in dormancy within substrate.
Water: 20–25°C, pH 6.5–7.5, moderately hard. Tank: 30L minimum, peat substrate for egg deposition and storage. Feeding: Live/frozen small invertebrates; micro-pellets often accepted. Behaviour: Males compete aggressively; one male per tank. Compatibility: Species tank recommended.
