Pomacentrus adelus
Origin: Western Pacific, Philippines to Great Barrier Reef
Pomacentrus adelus, the Obscure Damselfish, is a subtly beautiful species from the Western Pacific with a dusky brownish body overlaid with fine blue iridescent speckles that shimmer attractively under reef lighting. Less commonly seen in the trade than related species such as P. coelestis, it presents an intriguing choice for hobbyists seeking something distinctive for their reef community tank.
Provide a reef aquarium with ample rock structures and live rock for territory definition. Feed quality marine flake, frozen mysis, and enriched brine shrimp. Introduce singly or add simultaneously with other damsels to minimize aggression. Avoid housing with passive or timid fish.
