Liniparhomaloptera obtusirostris
Also known as: Obtuse Hillstream Loach, Blunt-snout Hillstream Loach
Origin: Vietnam, China
Liniparhomaloptera obtusirostris is a compact, stout hillstream loach with a characteristically blunt or obtuse rostrum and wide adhesive disc. It originates from the fast-flowing rivers of southern China and Vietnam and requires strong water movement and high dissolved oxygen to remain healthy in captivity. Its care closely parallels other Homaloptera-group hillstream species, making it appropriate for aquarists with existing hillstream setups.
Water: 20-24°C, pH 7.0-7.8, hard, highly oxygenated, strong flow. Tank: Minimum 80 L, large smooth boulders, high-flow powerhead. Feeding: Biofilm, algae wafers, blanched vegetables, spirulina. Behaviour: Active grazer; moves methodically across hard surfaces. Compatibility: Peaceful; best with other hillstream loaches and upland schooling fish.
