Pethia padamya
Origin: Irrawaddy River, Myanmar
Pethia padamya, the Odessa Barb, is a spectacularly colourful barb from Myanmar. Males display a vivid red-orange lateral stripe on a silvery body with black lateral spots, resembling a fish wearing lipstick. One of the most attractive medium barbs available. Peaceful, hardy, and suitable for community tanks. Pack of 8.
Keep in groups of 8+ in 80 L or more. Feed quality flake, small pellets, and frozen daphnia/bloodworm. Less nippy than Tiger Barbs. Suitable with most community fish but may occasionally nip very long-finned species. Prefers well-oxygenated water and moderate flow. Colors most vivid in well-planted tanks.
