About

Ogon means "gold" in Japanese, and this single-colored metallic koi lives up to its name with a brilliant full-body gold luster. Its simple, clean appearance and flashy metallic sheen make it one of the most visually impactful koi in any pond. Ogon is easy to care for and is an excellent choice for koi beginners.

Care Guide

Water: 5–25°C, pH 6.8–7.8, good water quality highlights the metallic sheen. Pond: minimum 1,000 L; metallic koi look spectacular against dark pond liners. Feeding: koi pellets with natural color enhancers; high-energy foods in summer. Behaviour: bold and gregarious; among the first koi to approach for hand-feeding. Compatibility: all koi varieties; a great ambassador for taming a new koi pond.
