Opistognathus aurifrons, the Yellowhead Jawfish, is a fascinating burrowing fish that excavates a home in a sand/rubble substrate and rarely ventures far. Mouth-brooder — males carry eggs. Brilliant yellow head, blue eyes, and elongated white body.
Deep sand bed 10–15 cm with rubble for burrow construction. Covered tank — excellent jumper. Temperature 24–27°C, SG 1.024–1.026. Feed Mysis, Artemia, small frozen foods. Peaceful with non-aggressive tank mates.
