Cyprinus rubrofuscus
Origin: Captive bred
Orenji Ogon is a metallic single-color koi displaying a bright orange metallic lustre across the entire body. 'Ogon' denotes the solid metallic scale type, and 'Orenji' the warm orange coloration. The vivid orange sheen is highly visible from above, making it a favourite in Dutch and Belgian water gardens where koi are viewed from the pond edge. A robust and rewarding pond fish for keeper of all experience levels.
Stock in a pond of at least 1000 L with excellent biological filtration. Feed quality koi pellets and reduce feeding in winter below 10°C. As with all koi, the pond should be deep enough (minimum 80 cm) to prevent freezing. Screen from herons and other predators.
