Corydoras ornatus is an attractive species from the Amazon basin featuring an elaborate pattern of dark interconnected markings on a light background. It is an active schooling fish that spends its time sifting through substrate in search of food. Its hardiness and good looks make it a reliable choice for community aquariums.
Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.2, soft to medium hardness. Tank: 60L+, fine sand substrate, moderate flow, plants for cover and open sandy areas. Feeding: Sinking wafers, quality pellets, frozen bloodworm, daphnia, and brine shrimp. Behaviour: Active, peaceful schooling bottom dweller; keep in groups of 6+. Compatibility: Good community fish with most peaceful tropical species.
