Carassius auratus
Origin: Captive bred
The Osaka Ranchu is an extraordinarily rare goldfish variety once thought extinct, recently revived by dedicated Japanese breeders who preserved the original strain. It differs from the standard Ranchu by having a longer, more cylindrical body and a distinctive broad, forked tail—characteristics lost when the original Osaka line disappeared. Considered one of the rarest goldfish varieties available on the world market, it represents a true collector's specimen.
Provide a large, heavily filtered aquarium with frequent water changes. Maintain cool, clean, well-oxygenated water. Feed quality sinking goldfish foods. Source from reputable specialist importers only. House with other slow-moving fancy goldfish.
