Origin: Indo-Pacific
Oxycirrhites typus (Longnose Hawkfish) is an attractive marine fish with a checkerboard red-and-white tartan pattern and an elongated snout. Perches on coral tips and fans, watching for prey.
pH 8.1–8.3, SG 1.025, temp 24–27°C. Will eat small shrimp and ornamental crustaceans — not fully reef-safe. Provide high-flow areas for perching. Hardy and bold personality.
