Amphiprion pacificus
Origin: Tonga, Fiji, Samoa, Wallis Islands
Amphiprion pacificus is a recently described clownfish species from Tonga, Fiji, Samoa, and Wallis Islands, previously confused with related Tomato-group species. It has an orange body with a single white head bar and a noticeably yellowish caudal fin—subtle but meaningful distinguishing features that make it a sought-after species for completionist marine collectors seeking all valid Amphiprion species. Its increasing availability in specialist shops reflects growing recognition of this Pacific endemic.
Provide a well-established reef or FOWLR aquarium. Offer suitable host anemones (Heteractis species preferred) or live rock structures. Feed frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp, and quality marine flake. Captive-bred specimens are preferred when available.
