Pacific Double-saddle Butterflyfish (Chaetodon ulietensis)

The Pacific Double-saddle Butterflyfish presents a white body with fine dark diagonal lines and two bold black saddle patches—one below the dorsal fin and one near the caudal peduncle—that give it a uniquely marked and elegant appearance. Found across the Pacific Ocean, it is moderately adaptable to captive feeding compared to obligate corallivores, accepting a variety of frozen and meaty foods when presented appropriately. A FOWLR aquarium with a varied diet is the recommended environment.

Provide a large FOWLR aquarium with open swimming space and stable water chemistry. Target-feed with frozen mysis, chopped clam, and enriched brine shrimp twice daily. Introduce early in stocking order. May accept marine algae-based preparations over time.
