Panaque nigrolineatus, the Royal Pleco (L190), is a large, impressive pleco with bold grey-brown tiger stripe pattern and brilliant blue-green eye. True wood-eater — requires driftwood to rasp. Grows large (45 cm) — plan for big tank.

Large tank 400 L+. Driftwood essential — rasps wood for cellulose and gut bacteria. Temperature 24–30°C, pH 6.0–7.5. Feed algae wafers, vegetables, Repashy Soilent Green. Produces enormous amounts of waste.
