Corydoras panda
Origin: Peru (captive-bred variant, wild: Ucayali River system)
This selectively bred variant of Corydoras panda exhibits intensified panda markings with higher contrast black patches on a pure white base, making each fish stand out even more dramatically than the wild type. Originating from the Peruvian Ucayali River system and now bred in specialty farms, this variant retains all the hardy, gentle traits of the standard Panda Cory. Best kept in groups of six or more on fine sand with low nitrate water.
Keep in groups of 6+ on fine sand substrate. Provide driftwood, leaves, and low lighting to replicate blackwater conditions. Feed sinking pellets, frozen bloodworm, and daphnia. Perform regular water changes to maintain low nitrates. Avoid sharp gravel that can damage barbels.
