Carassius auratus
Also known as: Panda Telescope, Panda Moor, Fancy Goldfish
Origin: China
The Panda Telescope combines the telescoping eye trait with a beautiful panda-like black-and-white pattern, creating a fish that is both visually distinctive and behaviorally interesting. Like all telescope-eye goldfish, it has limited vision and requires a hazard-free aquarium. The panda pattern may shift slightly with age and water conditions.
Water: 10–22°C, pH 6.5–7.5, pristine water and stable temperature to preserve panda pattern. Tank: minimum 120 L, smooth décor only, ensure food is delivered close to the fish. Feeding: sinking pellets, frozen daphnia, vegetables — feed near fish to compensate for poor vision. Behaviour: calm and peaceful; may be outcompeted for food by sighted tank mates. Compatibility: best with other telescope-eye goldfish of similar speed and vision.
