Apistogramma cf. commbrae 'Paraguay'
Also known as: Paraguay Apisto, Paraguay Commbrae
Origin: South America
This Apistogramma cf. commbrae form from Paraguayan river systems is distinguished by its somewhat broader water parameter tolerance, including moderate hardness. Males display the typical commbrae body plan with attractive lateral markings and coloured finnage. It is among the easier-to-keep Apistogramma and breeds reliably in well-maintained aquariums.
Water: 22-28°C, pH 6.0-7.5, soft to moderately hard (GH 4-12) tolerated. Tank: 60L minimum, sand substrate, caves, moderate planting. Feeding: omnivore — varied diet of live/frozen and quality cichlid dry foods. Behaviour: territorial during breeding; harem setup (1M:2-3F) recommended. Compatibility: peaceful community tank; compatible with small tetras and Corydoras.
