Betta patoti
Origin: East Kalimantan, Borneo
Betta patoti is a large mouthbrooding wild betta from the flowing, well-oxygenated rivers of East Kalimantan, Borneo. Part of the unimaculata complex, males display attractive iridescent green-blue scale centers against a brown base and impressive finnage during courtship displays. It requires a spacious aquarium with good water flow and frequent water changes replicating its native river environment, distinguishing it from slow-water betta species.
Provide a well-filtered aquarium with moderate water flow. Maintain slightly acidic to neutral water. Feed live and frozen invertebrates: bloodworm, earthworm pieces, crickets, artemia. Do not disturb the mouthbrooding male. Keep as a pair in a species-specific setup with plenty of cover.
