Cirrhilabrus roseafascia
Origin: Coral Sea, Western Pacific
Cirrhilabrus roseafascia, the Pink-banded Fairy Wrasse, is a rarely encountered species from the Coral Sea and western Pacific, displaying a rosy-pink to red body with a distinctive broad pink band on males. It inhabits deeper reef slopes and walls, which makes collection challenging and specimens uncommon in the hobby. A peaceful and active swimmer that thrives in reef aquariums with compatible tank mates. Provide a tight-fitting lid — fairy wrasses are accomplished jumpers.
Minimum 180 L reef aquarium. Requires a tight-fitting lid as this species is prone to jumping. Feed high-quality frozen marine foods: mysis, brine shrimp, copepods. Peaceful with most species but males may fight each other. Reef-safe. pH 8.1–8.4, salinity 1.020–1.025, temperature 24–27°C.
