Stylophora pistillata
Origin: Indo-Pacific (aquacultured morph)
Pink Stylophora (Stylophora pistillata) is a perennial reef-hobby favourite, producing dense, club-ended branches in saturated pink that stands out vividly under reef lighting. This aquacultured morph tolerates moderate handling during aquascaping and is considered one of the more forgiving SPS corals. High water flow, intense lighting, and consistent calcium/alkalinity supplementation drive impressive colony growth. Requires stable water chemistry with calcium 400–450 ppm, alkalinity 8–11 dKH, and magnesium 1250–1350 ppm.
High flow (10–30× tank volume per hour), high PAR lighting (200–400+). Calcium 400–450 ppm, alkalinity 8–11 dKH, magnesium 1250–1350 ppm. pH 8.1–8.4, salinity 1.023–1.025, temperature 24–27°C. Dose two-part or use calcium reactor for sustained growth. Fragging is straightforward once established.
