Pocillopora eydouxi
Origin: Indo-Pacific (wave-swept reef crests)
Pocillopora eydouxi, the Antler Coral, is the largest and most dramatically branching Pocillopora species, developing thick, antler-like branches that create impressive structural complexity in large reef systems. It grows faster and larger than P. damicornis and is often inhabited by symbiotic Trapezia crabs and Alpheid shrimp in the wild. A bold, architectural SPS coral for hobbyists with established, mature reef systems.
High PAR (250–400). Very strong flow to match its natural high-energy reef habitat. Alk 8–9 dKH, Ca 420–450 ppm, temp 24–27°C. Allow significant space — branches can reach 40+ cm across. Benefits from regular target feeding with coral amino acids. Monitor Alk consumption closely as large colonies are significant consumers. Large systems (400 L+) recommended.
