Origin: Lake Malawi, Africa
Nimbochromis polystigma is a large piscivorous haplochromine covered in bold, irregular dark spots on a light base — a pattern that serves as camouflage while hunting. Dominant males develop a blue-green sheen over this pattern. It is one of the more common Nimbochromis in the hobby and a hardy, long-lived aquarium species when given appropriate space.

Feeding: Meaty foods: cichlid pellets, frozen fish, silversides, krill. Behaviour: Piscivorous; will eat tank mates small enough to swallow. Compatibility: Large Malawi hap communities only; no small fish.
