The Powder Blue Discus presents a soft, pastel sky-blue coloration that appears almost luminescent under bright aquarium lighting. A popular variety in the Benelux hobby for its gentle appearance and compatibility with other peaceful discus strains. Requires stable, warm, soft water and a nutrient-rich diet to maintain its delicate hue. Best kept in groups of five or more in a tall, heavily planted aquarium with compatible peaceful tank mates.
Care Guide
Minimum 200 L tall aquarium. pH 6.0–7.0, GH 2–8, KH 0–3, temperature 28–31°C. Feed beef heart, quality discus pellets, frozen bloodworm, and spirulina. Keep in groups of 5+. Excellent water quality essential — 25–30% water changes 2–3× weekly. Very sensitive to nitrates; keep below 10 ppm. Compatible with cardinal tetras, altum angelfish, and other warm, soft-water species.
