Pristella maxillaris, the X-Ray Tetra or Water Goldfinch, is a timeless aquarium classic with a translucent body showing the spine and organs. Boldly coloured fins with black, white and yellow patterns. Extremely hardy and adaptable.

School of 8+. Accepts a wide range of water conditions. Temperature 22–28°C, pH 6.0–8.0. Feed flakes, micro-pellets and frozen foods. One of the most beginner-friendly tetras.
