Pygoplites diacanthus
Origin: Indo-Pacific (Red Sea preferred)
Pygoplites diacanthus (Regal Angelfish) is considered one of the most beautiful marine fish with bold yellow-white vertical bars and vivid blue-yellow tail. Known for being challenging to feed in captivity — Red Sea and Indian Ocean specimens are more adaptable.
pH 8.1–8.3, SG 1.025, temp 24–27°C. Prefers established reef with sponge growth. Red Sea specimens more likely to accept prepared foods. Feed Nori, frozen Mysis, sponge-based angel foods.
