About

The Queen Angelfish (Holacanthus ciliaris) is one of the most breathtaking marine fish, displaying an iridescent body of electric blue and yellow with a distinctive blue-ringed dark crown spot on its forehead. A large, territorial species from the Caribbean requiring a very spacious aquarium, abundant live rock, and a sponge-enriched diet to truly thrive. A centrepiece showpiece for dedicated, experienced marine aquarists committed to long-term care.

Care Guide

Minimum 550 L mature reef or FOWLR with abundant live rock. pH 8.1–8.4, salinity 1.020–1.025, temperature 21–26°C. Feed sponge-based angel formula, mysis, krill, spirulina, and nori daily. Territorial with other large angels; keep only one unless very large system. May nip at LPS/SPS corals. Once established, hardy and very long-lived.
