Tylomelania sp. "Yellow"
Also known as: Yellow Rabbit Snail, Golden Rabbit Snail
Origin: Sulawesi, Indonesia
This yellow variant of the Rabbit Snail genus features a bright lemon-to-golden shell that contrasts beautifully against dark substrates and green aquatic plants. Like all Tylomelania, it is live-bearing and grows slowly, making population control effortless. It requires the warm, mineral-rich conditions of its Sulawesi lake homeland.
Water: 26–30°C, pH 7.5–8.5, hard water with elevated mineral content; Sulawesi buffer recommended. Tank: Minimum 60L with sand substrate, smooth décor, and open grazing surfaces. Feeding: Algae wafers, blanched spinach, biofilm; calcium-rich supplementation supports shell development. Behaviour: Peaceful, slow, and mostly active during daylight hours; produces single live young. Compatibility: Ideal with other Sulawesi lake species; avoid nippy fish or large predatory inverts.
