Zoanthus sp.
Origin: Indo-Pacific (aquacultured morph)
Zoanthus sp. 'Radioactive Dragon Eye' is one of the most iconic designer zoanthid morphs in the reef hobby, boasting an electric green centre surrounded by an orange ring and contrasting outer skirt — colours that appear to glow vividly under blue actinic lighting. Prized by zoanthid collectors worldwide, it is a hardy, fast-spreading zoanthid that performs well across a wide range of reef aquarium conditions. Handle with gloves — zoanthids contain palytoxin.
Medium light, low to moderate flow. pH 8.1–8.4, salinity 1.023–1.025, temperature 24–27°C. Feed phytoplankton or reef roids occasionally for faster growth. Place on isolated rubble to manage spreading. Hardy and tolerant of varied lighting conditions. Handle with gloves — palytoxin present. Frag with scissors; wear eye protection.
