About

Rainfordia opercularis is a rare Australian endemic plesiopid found exclusively in the southern Great Barrier Reef, with a tan-orange body marked by bold dark vertical bars and vivid blue-rimmed eyes. Seldom collected and highly prized, it is completely reef-safe and thrives on a variety of meaty frozen foods. An exceptional collector's fish for experienced marine hobbyists who can source this elusive species.

Care Guide

Minimum 150 L reef or FOWLR with cave structures and overhangs for hiding. pH 8.1–8.4, salinity 1.021–1.025, temperature 22–26°C.
