Planorbarius corneus
Origin: Europe, Asia (widely captive bred)
Ramshorn Snails (Planorbarius corneus and related species) are attractive flat-coiled snails available in various colour forms including red, pink, blue, and leopard-spotted varieties. They actively graze soft algae and film from glass, equipment, and plant leaves. Peaceful and easy to keep; useful for algae maintenance in planted tanks. Pack of 10 assorted colours.
Thrives in any well-established aquarium. Feed on algae and detritus; supplement with algae wafer or blanched cucumber. Can overpopulate if overfed — control feeding to manage population. Hardy in a range of water conditions but prefer harder water for shell health. Breed readily — hermaphrodite.
