Red Devil Crab

Geosesarma hagen (Red Devil Crab) is a striking semi-terrestrial crab from Sulawesi with a vivid red carapace and deep red-orange legs. Like other Geosesarma, it requires a paludarium or terrarium setup with freshwater access, humid terrestrial areas, leaf litter, and hiding spots. Omnivorous and accepting of a wide variety of foods. Despite its fierce name, it is peaceful with its own kind in spacious setups.

Minimum 40 L paludarium with mostly terrestrial area and shallow freshwater section. pH 7.5–8.5, GH 3–10, KH 1–6, temperature 22–28°C, humidity 70–90%. Provide leaf litter, cork bark, and coco-fibre substrate. Feed blanched vegetables, invertebrate pellets, dried leaves, and occasional protein. Escape-proof lid essential. Can be kept in groups with sufficient space.
