About

A solid red discus strain selectively bred over generations for deep, uniform red coloration across the entire body. Popular in Belgian and Dutch discus circles for its striking simplicity and bold visual impact. Like all discus, it requires stable, warm, soft water and a nutrient-rich diet. Best kept in groups of five or more with peaceful warm-water companions.

Care Guide

Minimum 200 L tall aquarium. pH 6.0–7.0, GH 2–8, KH 0–3, temperature 28–31°C. Feed beef heart, quality discus pellets, frozen bloodworm. Keep in groups of 5+. Very sensitive to nitrates — keep below 10 ppm with 25–30% water changes 2–3× weekly. Compatible with cardinal tetras and other warm soft-water species. Avoid all cold-water or hard-water fish.
