Origin: South America, Caribbean (cultivated variety)
Female guppies are typically larger and more subdued in colour than males, but the Red Female Guppy shows attractive warm orange-red tones on the body and fins. Essential for breeding projects where a consistent red line is desired. Hardy and adaptable, the female guppy is one of the easiest livebearers to keep and thrives in a wide range of water conditions.
Minimum 40 L. pH 6.8–8.5, GH 5–20, KH 3–12, temperature 18–28°C. Feed quality flake, micro pellets, and occasional live or frozen foods. Can be kept with males for breeding or female-only groups. Hardy and very adaptable. Provide some plant cover for birthed fry if breeding. Compatible with most peaceful community fish.
