About
The Red Marlboro is a flagship discus strain with a bold, uniform deep-red body and minimal or absent striping, giving it a clean, solid appearance that stands out in any display aquarium. Originally developed in Asia and refined in European breeding programmes, it remains one of the most popular solid-red varieties in Belgium and the Netherlands. An excellent focal-point fish for well-maintained discus displays.
Care Guide
Minimum 200 L tall aquarium. pH 6.0–7.0, GH 2–8, KH 0–3, temperature 28–31°C. Feed beef heart, quality discus pellets, frozen bloodworm, and colour-enhancing foods. Keep in groups of 5+. Nitrate below 10 ppm — 25–30% water changes 2–3× weekly. Compatible with cardinal tetras and other warm soft-water species. Premium strain; demands attentive husbandry.
