Glossolepis incisus
Origin: Lake Sentani, West Papua, Indonesia
Glossolepis incisus, the Red Rainbowfish, is endemic to Lake Sentani in West Papua. Mature males develop a deep brick-red to crimson body with silver shimmer — stunning under bright lighting. Females are brownish-olive with silver scaling. A robust and active species that demands quality diet to develop and maintain its intense colour. One of the larger rainbowfish at 15 cm; suited to community tanks with other large, active fish.
School of 6+ (extra males for display). Temperature 22–28 °C. Slightly alkaline water beneficial. High-quality varied diet: spirulina flake, frozen bloodworm, colour-enhancing pellets. 200 L for a proper school. Excellent surface aeration.
