About
The Red White Butterfly Discus is a visually dramatic strain featuring bold patches of red and white distributed across the body in an irregular, butterfly-wing-like pattern unique to each individual fish. Greatly admired at Belgian and Dutch discus shows for its artistic, painterly appearance. Like all discus, it requires stable warm soft water and excellent husbandry.
Care Guide
Minimum 200 L tall aquarium. pH 6.0–7.0, GH 2–8, KH 0–3, temperature 28–31°C. Feed beef heart mix, quality discus pellets, and frozen bloodworm. Keep in groups of 5+. Very sensitive to nitrates — 25–30% water changes 2–3× weekly, keep nitrate below 10 ppm. Compatible with cardinal tetras and other warm-water soft-water fish. Premium show variety — optimal conditions essential.
