Trigonopoma pauciperforatum
Origin: Malaysia, Indonesia (Sumatra, Malay Peninsula)
Trigonopoma pauciperforatum, the Redline Rasbora, is an elegant blackwater fish from the peat swamp forests of Sumatra and the Malay Peninsula, featuring a vivid red-orange lateral stripe running the full body length. An energetic, mid-water schooling species that looks spectacular in large groups of 15+ against a dark substrate and background. Soft, tannin-rich water replicating its blackwater habitat is strongly recommended for optimal colour and health.
Minimum 60 L with dark substrate, tannin-stained soft acidic water. pH 4.0–6.5, GH 1–8, KH 0–3, temperature 23–28°C. Feed quality micro flake, micro pellets, and frozen daphnia or baby brine shrimp. Keep in groups of 10+ — larger groups produce more intense schooling displays. Compatible with other blackwater species. Add Indian almond leaves and driftwood for tannins.
