Pseudogramma polyacantha
Origin: Indo-Pacific
Pseudogramma polyacantha is a small, robust basslet with a mottled reddish-brown pattern providing excellent camouflage among rubble and coral bases. Widely distributed across the Indo-Pacific, it is hardy and adaptable in captivity. It will defend a small territory but is generally safe with fish too large to swallow. A reliable, characterful fish for reef and FOWLR setups.
Minimum 115 L reef or FOWLR with rubble and cave hiding spots. pH 8.1–8.4, salinity 1.020–1.025, temperature 24–27°C. Feed frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and small carnivore pellets. Semi-aggressive territorial fish — keep one per tank unless very large system with multiple territories. May eat very small ornamental fish or shrimp. Reef-safe with corals.
