Paracheilinus rennyae
Origin: Western Pacific
Renny's Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus rennyae) is a newly described and exceedingly rare species from deep reef habitats in the Western Pacific. Males display a spectacular palette of red, orange, and blue during their dramatic flashing displays used to attract females. Rarity in the trade and outstanding visual spectacle make it highly prized among dedicated fairy wrasse enthusiasts.
Minimum 180 L reef with tight-fitting lid — flasher wrasses are prone to jumping. pH 8.1–8.4, salinity 1.020–1.025, temperature 24–27°C. Feed frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp, and small carnivore foods 2× daily. Peaceful with most species; males may fight conspecifics — keep one male per tank. Reef-safe. One of the more rarely encountered flasher wrasse species.
