Potamotrygon reticulata is found in major river systems of Venezuela and Colombia and is one of the larger Potamotrygon species. Its reticulated pattern of pale lines against a dark brown background is highly distinctive and makes it immediately identifiable among freshwater stingrays. It requires the same demanding care regime as all potamotrygonid rays.
