Richmond's Wrasse (Halichoeres richmondi) is a rarely seen species from the Western Pacific, featuring a distinctive pattern of green and orange with a characteristic dark ocellus near the dorsal fin. An active forager on sand and rubble slopes, hunting small invertebrates and worms. Its uncommon availability in the hobby makes it a desirable find for wrasse enthusiasts.
Minimum 250 L with deep sand bed (5+ cm) for sleeping and burrowing. pH 8.1–8.4, salinity 1.020–1.025, temperature 24–27°C. Feed frozen mysis, krill, small marine invertebrates. Not reef-safe — will eat ornamental shrimp and small invertebrates. Reef-safe with corals. Active during the day; buries in sand at night. May need sand bed for settling in.
