Awaous banana is found in rivers and coastal streams from Florida to Colombia, migrating between freshwater and estuarine habitats during its lifecycle. Feeding: Primarily herbivorous; algae wafers, blanched vegetables, and sinking pellets; accepts frozen foods. Behaviour: Territorial toward conspecifics; one per tank unless very large; vigorous excavator. Compatibility: Large, robust fish only; territorial toward other large gobies.
